Cloverfield [BLU-RAY] (Paramount Home Entertainment, 6.3.2008) Disguised under deliberately goofy, yet deliciously edible-sounding, aliases such as Cheese and Slusho, Matt Reeves' Cloverfield was produced and rushed into theaters under an equally appetizing shroud of secrecy. From last year's incredibly elusive Super Bowl ad to the film's viral marketing campaign, Cloverfield had everybody scratching their heads and drooling in anticipation. Aside from the as-yet untitled title and the Blair Witch-ian visual style, the film's biggest appeal was the enigmatic creature who was last (un)seen hurling the decapitated head of the Statue of Liberty onto the crowded streets of New York City. All we knew about the mysterious beast was that it was big and angry. Now that the highy-anticipated project has come and gone, one question has fortunately been answered: Cloverfield was a major success. (continued)

Reality Settles In

It's been a while since my last post, but this whole London adaption process has taken more time than I originally perceived. I know I've missed out on a lot explosive news regarding McCain's VP pick, and I apologize for that. However, I'm back for what it's worth.

This Palin pick is such a joke, it's insulting to America's intelligence, right? I mean come on! This is clearly a publicity stunt designed to rake in angry female Clinton nut-jobs who were pulling for a woman in the white house! I mean, what else does she bring to the table? Nothing! Cindy McCain, like a moron, said Palin has foreign policy credentials because Alaska is near Russia...Really, Cindy? Really?

Well, anyway, I'm hoping this new CBS poll is a reflection of America's final wake-up call to how stupid this Palin pick is. Of course, McCain is still milking the Gustav hurricane call-to-arms for all that it's worth, but right now, this bounce was a long time coming.
