Leonardo DiCaprio has taken a fair amount of incoming for masking up at a recent Lakers game. My first unthinking instinct would be to label Leo a Covid coward, but I’m frankly touched by the below photo, which show him wearing his mask incorrectly.
The instant I saw this, my heart went out.
There’s no real point in masking anyway (or at least not any more), but if you’re going to wear one of these damn things you have to cover your nose. And yet this is more or less how I wore my masks during ’20 and’21 — right on the tip of the nose or with the mask slipping just below it. Immature as this may sound, it was my little way of symbolically renouncing the pandemic repression that masks represented..
