I Still Say Mel Brooks Needs To Be Disciplined

…for ridiculing gay people in The Producers (’67), Blazing Saddles (’74) and Robin Hood: Men in Tights (’93).

Oh, we could turn the other cheek and applaud Brooks for predicting what actors like Harry Styles and Timothee Chalamet would be wearing to the Met Gala in the early 21st Century, but that would going too easy, I feel.

Brooks has never been called out on this kind of hate cinema, and I’m wondering when, if ever, wokesters will stand up and say the hard thing.

Seriously, the cameo performances by Andreas_Voutsinas (as “Carmen Ghia”) and Christopher Hewett (as theatre director Roger De Bris) still make me laugh. By saying this I’m admitting to being a homophobe, of course. What’s my punishment?
