Nobody wanted to even think about balding, unshaven, flabby-bod, liver-spotted Beau Wassermann (Joaquin Phoenix) having it off with old girlfriend Elaine Bray (Parker Posey), much less watch this encounter. And yet Beau Is Afraid director-writer Ari Aster made us sit through this sex scene, which ended with Posey dying in mid-orgasm. Naked Posey looked great, actually, but Pheonix appeared less attractive than a cancer-afflicted Walter Brennan in Rio Bravo.
