The top image is a 1953 or ’54 Rene Magritte painting called “the Dominion of Light.” The bottom image was snapped a couple of weeks ago at the corner of Wilshire Blvd. and Stanley Drive. I wasn’t trying to duplicate “The Dominion of Light” — I only noticed the similarity a few days ago. I realize that Magritte’s work has never been taken seriously by anyone in the know.
