“I was very shaken. He did a bad thing. What he doesn’t deserve is to be lumped in with Roy Moore, Kevin Spacey or Harvey Weinstein. Or Donald Trump. I know the difference between a man who once acted like a dick and a man who is a dick. I know the difference between someone who behaved like a high-schooler and someone who targeted high-schoolers.”

A guy sent along this 2004 video of a USO stage bit in Kandahar, Afghanistan between Robin Williams and Al Franken‘s future accuser Leann Tweeden. “Franken’s accuser seemingly had no problem being groped by this comedian onstage,” he wrote, “and [it] was reciprocal. How about that leg wraparound?”

My reply: “Naah, she was rolling with it. What else could she do? It was part of the act, and the troops were laughing and hooting. If Williams had groped her like this in private she might have reacted differently. The affectionate leg wrap was offered as a public tribute to Williams’ fame and popularity. Big stars get a lot of affection.”
