The early-bird crowd has lavished praise upon Matt Reeves’ The Batman, and that’s fine. Congrats to all significant contributors — Reeves, “eager” RPatz, Zoe Kravitz-as-tiny Catwoman, dp Grieg Fraser, Paul Dano, Colin Farrell. HE is looking toward to my Century City, Wednesday night grunt-level screening with bated breath. Note: It is only when second-wavers with an attitude (i.e., persons like myself) and especially Joe Popcorn types have had a look-see…only when the non–elites have spoken will we know the true state of things. Because most of the elites are hedging, tippy-toeing, playing political games.

Voice from wilderness: “Woke Catwoman…Kravitz has a moment when she describes Gotham as a society filled with ‘rich, privileged white people’ — eye-roller.”
Also: A certain British actor with small pig eyes and a bulbous nose makes an appearance.
Also: “The Nolan Batman flicks felt semi-grounded in reality where the Reeves version is more Marvel noir. It’s basically a murder-mystery but the plot is convoluted and all over the place. You can’t always follow it that easily.”
